Hankey Group External in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting for an on-site role reporting to the Accounting Manager. You will ensure GAAP compliance, assist with monthly closes and external audits, and drive technical accounting research and automation initiatives.

The role requires a BA/BS in Accounting or Finance with 3+ years of experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint. Public accounting or financial reporting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus but not required.
• Public accounting and/or financial reporting experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint required.
• Knowledge of SQL/Snowflake and/or VB/Macros a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP for monthly and year-end reporting.
• Assist in external audits and coordinate with teams for audit results and compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations.
• Support intercompany transactions, consolidations, and disclosure requirements.
• Analyze financial results, identify trends and explain variances.
• Research accounting guidance to assess impact of new standards and prepare memos.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new business activities and appropriate GAAP treatments.
• Identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting processes, internal controls, and automation.
• Develop automated reporting and analytical solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Complete ad-hoc projects as required by management.
