Job summary

Pennant Services in the United States seeks a Senior Accountant to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records. You will manage fixed assets, prepaid expenses, reconciliations, journal entries, and support timely month-end close.

You will prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP and SOX, collaborate with AP/AR/Payroll, support internal controls, and assist with special projects. The role offers full benefits and opportunities to improve accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent accounting experience.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with fixed assets, prepaid expenses, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• General Accounting: Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Fixed Assets: Maintain asset records, review capital expenditures, record additions/disposals, and calculate depreciation.
• Prepaid Expenses: Maintain schedules, record amortization, and ensure expenses are recognized in the correct periods.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare/analyze reports, ensure GAAP/SOX compliance and company policies.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Internal Controls: Support controls, respond to audits, and improve accounting processes.
• Accounting Support: Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, and other departments to resolve issues.
• Special Projects: Assist with process improvements and system initiatives.
