Job description

Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.

We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.

We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.

If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.

About This Role:

As the Fixed Asset Accountant, you'll be the go-to person for everything related to capital expenditures, from initial requisition through to full lifecycle tracking. In a typical day, you'll review purchase requests to determine proper CAPEX vs. OPEX treatment, reconcile capital spend by project, and collaborate closely with Project Managers, Finance, Procurement, and Operations to identify when in-service assets are ready to be capitalized. You'll also own the reconciliation of the fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger, prepare PPE roll-forwards across Crusoe's consolidated entities, and handle deposit and CIP reconciliations to keep everything accurate and audit-ready.

Beyond the day-to-day mechanics, you'll play a key role in the monthly close process, preparing journal entries, supporting fluctuation analysis, and partnering with the Tax team on property tax reconciliations and accruals. You'll thrive in this role if you're detail-oriented, comfortable working with large volumes of data, and energized by finding smarter, more efficient ways to get things done. This position is ideal for someone who can work independently, take ownership of their responsibilities, and stay a step ahead in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment while also lending support on audits, due diligence, and other projects as they arise.

What You’ll Be Working On:
  • Review purchase requisitions and orders to ensure proper CAPEX vs. OPEX classification

  • Track and reconcile capital expenditures by project

  • Partner with Project Managers, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to identify and capitalize in-service project assets

  • Reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger

  • Prepare and reconcile monthly and year-to-date PP&E roll-forwards across Crusoe's consolidated legal entities

  • Prepare deposit and CIP (Construction-in-Progress) reconciliations

  • Prepare and record monthly close journal entries

  • Support monthly reporting and fluctuation analysis

  • Collaborate with the Tax team to prepare property tax GL account reconciliations and monthly accruals

  • Support audit and due diligence requests as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring to the Team:
  • 4-6 years of combined fixed asset and general ledger accounting experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

  • Solid understanding of GAAP as it relates to CAPEX vs. OPEX treatment

  • Working knowledge of internal controls and accounting best practices

  • Understanding of consolidations, joint ventures, and intercompany transactions

  • Exposure to and understanding of month-end financial reporting processes

Bonus Points:
  • A knack for working smarter- always looking for ways to improve processes and drive efficiency

  • Keen attention to detail, even when moving quickly

  • Ability to work with and manipulate large volumes of data

  • Comfort working independently, taking ownership, and adapting in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

  • A forward-thinking mindset- able to anticipate issues before they arise and proactively identify solutions

Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation and equity packages

  • Restricted Stock Units

  • Paid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programs

  • Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance

  • Employer contributions to HSA account

  • Paid parental leave

  • Paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability

  • Professional development & tuition reimbursement

  • Mental health & wellness support

  • Commuter benefits (parking & transit)

  • Cell phone stipend

  • 401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salary

  • Volunteer time off

  • Global travel insurance & emergency assistance

  • Daily meals allowance

  • Additional perks & programs specific to location

Compensation

Compensation will be paid in the range of $90,000 - $110,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
