Job summary

Town of Frederick is seeking a Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst to perform advanced accounting and financial analysis in support of the Town’s operations. The role includes complex reconciliations, financial reporting, month-end/ year-end coordination, budget analysis, forecasting, and audit coordination.

The position emphasizes independent judgment, process improvements, and delivering financial insights for planning and decision-making. Municipal accounting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, and general ledger accounting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate month-end close activities.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
• Lead preparation of audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors.
• Develop revenue and expenditure forecasts for budget planning.
• Maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with standards and policies.
• Provide guidance to accounting staff and assist with system implementations.
