Job summary

AAA The Auto Club Group is seeking a Senior Corporate Auditor to perform in-depth financial analyses and develop complex models to support management decisions. This role supports auditors and interacts with multiple departments to assess financial consequences of actions.

The position is full-time and remote, with standard weekday hours. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience in financial reporting and GAAP/insurance accounting are preferred.

Job description

Position Summary

Prepares in-depth financial analyses and research to support and facilitate timely management decisions and/or financial reports or statements. Analyzes and evaluates financial implications of business decisions or transactions on financial results. Researches, evaluates and interprets financial data using advanced and emerging financial techniques and tools. Develops and manipulates complex financial models for support and analysis of business initiatives. Works with departments to ensure an understanding of financial consequences resulting from various actions. Provides support for internal and external auditors by preparing complex analytical schedules, responding to inquiries, researching issues and implementing recommended changes. Develops, designs, tests and documents system changes or upgrades. Represents finance on corporate teams and initiatives.

Performs complex reinsurance accounting including, but not limited to, journal entries, analysis and reconciliation of complex general ledger accounts, activity and variances. Prepares and balances the insurance company Annual Statement supplemental schedules filed with the regulators.

Qualifications

Required

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
Experience:
  • Experience as a Financial Analyst/Accountant or similar position
  • Preparing and developing financial reports
  • Using automated accounting and/or management reporting systems
  • Preparing, analyzing and interpreting in-depth analyses of financial and or statistical data
  • Model development and manipulation using Microsoft Office products
  • Overseeing and guiding assigned individual deliverables to successful completion
Knowledge And Skills:

Preferred

Education:
  • Certified Public Accountant and/or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Tax
Experience:
  • Experience in using automated accounting systems
  • Financial reporting (e.g. financial statement preparation, review and analysis)
  • Preparing complex journal entries
  • Preparing complex account analysis and general ledger reconciliations
  • Insurance and/or reinsurance accounting or financial analysis
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Insurance Statutory Accounting Principles
  • Experience in statutory financial statement preparation
  • Experience in economic regression analysis of variables that drive financial results/support project recommendations
  • Experience in developing/implementing business simulation/models
  • Experience in placement of reinsurance coverage for insurance companies
Knowledge And Skills:

Work Environment

This position works from a home office location. Depending on the role, some employees may be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or team building events.

Compensation

Senior Corporate Auditor will earn a competitive salary of $67,371 - $90,000 annually with annual bonus potential based on performance.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrual-based, increases with tenure, eligible at 90 days of employment. Full-time new employees will receive up to 12 PTO days annually; accrual based on start date and may include additional PTO based on role and/or state & local requirements. Part-time employee PTO hours are calculated based upon the standard weekly hours the employee is scheduled to work and will accrue at a minimum of 3 hours per month
  • Paid Holidays: Full-time employees are eligible for 10 company-paid holidays annually, in addition to 1 mental health day, 2 floating holidays and 1 volunteer day. Holidays vary by business unit schedules. Part-time employees are eligible for 8 company-paid holidays annually, in addition to 1 mental health day and 2 floating holidays.
