Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Senior Accountant, Consolidations to join the accounting team in Florida. The role focuses on general ledger accounting, month-end close, and consolidations while driving efficiencies and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate has a background in public accounting or public company experience, a solid grasp of US GAAP, and excellent communication. This position offers growth opportunities and exposure to a large homebuilding organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• 3+ years in public accounting and/or with a public company preferred
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Word. JD Edwards, Essbase, Blackline

Responsibilities

• Understand Lennar homebuilding business and accounting processes; identify efficiency improvements and automation.
• Enter journal entries and produce monthly financial statements.
• Prepare and post journal entries; analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Ensure adherence to month-end close schedule.
• Create and maintain organized spreadsheets for journal entries and analyses.
• Reconcile and analyze critical accounting areas using Blackline.
• Collaborate with Accounting Manager on issues in critical accounts.
• Oversee centralized lease accounting for 39+ divisions; ensure timely entries.
• Lead assigned tasks and projects; supervise staff accountant.
• Perform other month-end reporting and projects.
