Metropolis Technologies in New York, NY seeks a Senior Accountant to join Corporate Accounting. You will own close processes, ensure US GAAP adherence, and liaise with external auditors while strengthening internal controls in a fast-growing tech company.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, and cross‑functional collaboration with FP&A, Operations, Engineering, Legal, and Tax. The role offers a four‑day‑in‑office model and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX controls
• Experience leading audits and liaising with external auditors
• Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite/Oracle/SAP) and advanced Excel
• Ability to perform technical accounting research and draft memos
• Experience in a fast-growing tech/AI environment is a plus

Responsibilities

• Own key areas of monthly, quarterly, and annual close with timely, accurate reporting under US GAAP
• Prepare complex journal entries, analyses, and reconciliations across core accounting areas
• Support the annual audit process as liaison with external auditors; prepare workpapers and disclosures
• Design and implement robust internal controls (SOX-ready) to streamline reporting
• Perform technical accounting research on complex transactions (ASC 606/842/360) and draft memos
• Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, Engineering, Legal, and Tax to review contracts and track capex
• Run monthly variance analyses and deliver actionable insights to leadership
• Identify opportunities to leverage accounting technology, automation, and AI tools to improve close workflows
