Job description

Damora Therapeutics is an innovative biotechnology company that aims to fundamentally redefine care for people with hematologic disorders. We are advancing a new generation of biologics to treat mutant calreticulin-driven myeloproliferative neoplasms, including essential thrombocythemia and myelofibrosis, where there is significant medical need for new disease-modifying treatments. With multiple programs with best-in-class potential on track to enter clinical development in 2026, our goal is to rapidly bring forward optimized treatments with broad mutation coverage and exceptional convenience to dramatically improve patient outcomes.

This is a unique opportunity to join a science-driven company at a formative stage, where early clinical data will directly shape development strategy and drive long-term value. The right candidate will join a team with significant early- and late-stage development experience, with the goal of quickly moving through dose escalation/expansion into pivotal trials.

The Role

The Senior Accountant will play a hands-on role in supporting the company's day-to-day accounting operations, with a focus on general ledger accuracy, close activities, and reconciliations, while gaining exposure to the added complexity of clinical trial accounting. This role requires someone comfortable operating with the rigor of a public company (SOX, SEC reporting support, external audit) while also being flexible and resourceful in a small-team, early-stage environment where responsibilities span broadly. The ideal candidate has some biotech or life sciences exposure and is eager to grow their technical accounting skills while helping build scalable processes.

  • Assist with flux analysis and variance explanations for management review
  • Support purchase order and contract tracking processes
  • Help document and maintain accounting policies and procedures as the company grows
  • Assist with the evaluation and implementation of accounting systems and tools (ERP, expense management, etc.)
  • Other special projects and ad-hoc duties as needed
Clinical Trial & R&D Accounting
  • Support tracking of CRO/CMO contracts, purchase orders, and spend against budget in partnership with Clinical Operations
  • Assist in preparing and updating clinical trial accrual calculations
  • Review vendor invoices and contracts for proper account coding and supporting documentation
Public Company Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations for financial statement preparation
  • Assist with SOX 404 compliance, including documentation and testing of internal controls
  • Prepare audit support schedules and respond to auditor requests (PBC items)
Payroll
  • Support payroll processing, including preparation of payroll journal entries
  • Assist with new hire payroll onboarding and recordkeeping

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
  • Prior experience in biotech, pharma, or life sciences
  • Exposure to SOX compliance and/or public company reporting
  • Familiarity with clinical trial accrual accounting or CRO/CMO vendor relationships
