Job summary

CFS, a privately-owned manufacturer, is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead day-to-day accounting across headquarters and plants in Vancouver, WA. You will own the full accounting cycle, supervise month-end closes, and deliver GAAP-compliant financial statements.

This hands-on role partners with cost accounting, inventory control, and cross-functional teams, supports a NetSuite ERP implementation, and reports to the Controller.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing, distribution, or job-costing environments.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, full-cycle accounting, inventory costing, and project-based accounting principles.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience managing large datasets.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise software and accounting systems; exposure to QuickBooks or NetSuite is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to support accounting staff and collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day general ledger operations, fixed assets, cash management, banking transactions, and expense allocations.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles, preparing journal entries, accruals, tax distributions, and GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Review standard costing, analyze material, labor, and overhead variances, perform job-cost allocations, and evaluate gross margin profitability.
• Reconcile key bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and subledgers, while maintaining capital asset, lease, and depreciation schedules.
• Prepare and file local and state sales, excise, and personal property tax returns, ensuring timely payment of all corporate liabilities.
• Support the NetSuite ERP implementation, refine transactional coding, strengthen internal controls, and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
