Skylight is hiring a Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. You will supervise an offshore member, manage wholesale and e-commerce accounting, and ensure accurate financial reporting across our wholesale and digital channels.

You will collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Operations, Sales, and Systems to streamline processes and improve controls. The role emphasizes process improvement, data accuracy, and supporting audits as the business scales.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong US GAAP knowledge and month-end close.
• Hands-on in journal entries, reconciliations and discrepancy investigation.
• Experience supervising junior or offshore accountants.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivots and lookups with large datasets.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem solving.

Responsabilidades

• Lead wholesale accounting: AR, payments, deductions, chargebacks, and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Ops and Sales to resolve pricing and fulfillment issues for accurate books.
• Record wholesale transactions in NetSuite; support EDI processes.
• Manage Shopify and Amazon Seller Central accounting including sales, refunds, taxes.
• Reconcile settlements, processing fees, and clearing accounts for reports.
• Own month-end close; prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Supervise offshore accounting team; assign duties and review outputs.
• Coordinate onshore/offshore deliverables and timelines.
• Support cash flow forecasting with AR data for FP&A and Treasury.
• Identify root causes of discrepancies and implement fixes.
• Improve data accuracy, workflows, and controls; explore automation.
• Assist external audits and financial reporting as needed.

About the Role:

We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. In this role, you'll be responsible for key accounting processes, support month-end close, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting across our wholesale, e-commerce, and other business activities. You'll work closely with FP&A, Treasury, Operations, Sales, and Systems to resolve accounting issues, support cash flow forecasting, improve processes, and identify opportunities for automation. You'll also supervise an offshore accounting team member, providing guidance, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned responsibilities. As Skylight continues to grow and evolve, you'll have the opportunity to take on new responsibilities, help build scalable accounting processes, and make a meaningful impact on the business.

Responsibilities:

Wholesale Accounting Manage wholesale accounting activities, including accounts receivable, customer payments, deductions, chargebacks, and related reconciliations.

Partner with Operations and Sales to investigate and resolve pricing discrepancies, fulfillment issues, and outstanding customer balances to support accurate accounting and timely collections.

Collaborate with Operations and Systems to support EDI processes and ensure accurate and timely recording of wholesale transactions in NetSuite.

E-commerce Accounting Manage accounting activities for Shopify and Amazon Seller Central, including sales, refunds, discounts, indirect taxes, and other related transactions.

Reconcile payment settlements, processing fees, and clearing accounts to ensure accurate and complete financial reporting.

General Accounting, Team Supervision & Process Improvement Own key month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Supervise offshore accounting team members, including assigning responsibilities, reviewing work, providing feedback, and ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

Coordinate accounting activities across onshore and offshore teams to ensure effective communication, accountability, and timely completion of deliverables.

Support cash flow forecasting by providing timely and accurate accounts receivable, collections, and other relevant financial information to FP&A and Treasury.

Investigate reconciliation differences, identify root causes, and implement solutions to minimize recurring issues.

Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Operations, Sales, and Systems to improve data accuracy, streamline workflows, and strengthen accounting processes.

Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting activities and support process improvements and system enhancements.

Maintain and improve accounting procedures, reconciliations, and internal controls to support a scalable accounting function.

Support external audits, financial reporting, and other accounting initiatives.

Take on additional accounting responsibilities and special projects as the business continues to grow.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.

Hands-on experience preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and investigating complex accounting discrepancies.

Experience supervising, reviewing, or coordinating the work of junior accountants or offshore team members.

Strong organizational and delegation skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions, review work effectively, and manage competing priorities.

Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and working with large datasets.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to independently manage responsibilities, prioritize competing deadlines, and follow through on issues to resolution.
