Job summary

Polymer Science, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead financial reporting, GL activities, and cost accounting for our polymer manufacturing operations. You will manage close processes, ensure policy adherence, and support audits while driving accuracy across the finance function.

The role requires 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with proficiency in SAP or NetSuite and advanced Excel skills. This on-site position in Indiana offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
  • 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or production environments.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and cost accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, communicate clearly, and maintain accuracy under deadlines.
  • Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and commitment to high‑quality financial work.

Responsibilities

  • General Ledger Management - Maintain GL accuracy, post journal entries, and ensure proper coding aligned with company policy.
  • Cost Accounting - Track production costs, analyze variances, and support inventory valuation for polymer manufacturing workflows.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable - Process invoices, monitor aging, ensure timely collections, and maintain vendor compliance.
  • Budget Support - Assist in annual budgeting, forecasting cycles, and departmental spend analysis.
  • Audit & Compliance - Support internal and external audits; maintain documentation; ensure adherence to GAAP and company policies.
  • Process Improvement - Identify efficiency opportunities, streamline workflows, and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration - Partner with operations, procurement, HR, and leadership to ensure financial clarity and support decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated leadership potential and interest in long‑term career progression, with the capability to grow into a senior financial leadership role such as VP of Finance within 5–7 years.

Compensation: Competitive salary and bonus package

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week, on-site (no hybrid or remote work)
