Job summary

Union Bay Risk Advisors is seeking a Sr. Accountant to provide timely and accurate accounting and analytics for a high-growth independent insurance agency. The role is hybrid and may be remote for suitably qualified candidates.

Responsibilities include revenue reconciliation, monthly journal entries, FP&A support, maintaining schedules, and conducting financial analysis. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in accounting/finance and 3+ years of accounting experience.

Qualifications

• Strong Excel and Office skills (sorting, filtering, lookups).

• Audit-ready documentation and adherence to policies and deadlines.

Job Description

The Sr. Accountant will provide timely and accurate accounting and analysis to support a high growth independent insurance agency. This is a hybrid position but will consider remote if candidate meets the proper qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the revenue and commission statement reconciliation
• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Provide support and analytics to FP&A and Management
• Maintain various accounting schedules
• Conduct financial analysis as needed
• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures/processes for the current tasks performed

Key Skills Required

• Bachelors in accounting/finance or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency, including sorting, filtering, lookups, and basic data analysis
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through
• Analytical thinking, reconciliation, research, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain audit-ready documentation and follow company policies, controls, and deadlines
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Agency Management System Experience (Hawksoft, EZLynx, Applied, ect.)
