Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • 2–4 years of related experience; Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting concepts.
  • Experience auditing or working with pharmaceutical/biotech companies and/or gross-to-net revenue experience preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Support the period close by preparing reconciliations and journal entries, and maintain revenue recognition models including gross-to-net accounting, ensuring ASC 606 compliance.
  • Collaborate with accounting team to improve accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness of financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with Commercial Finance, Market Access, Compliance, and Supply Chain to record and report revenue and provide insights into business impact on financial results.
  • Support internal controls (SOX) and external financial reporting (SEC Reporting) as needed.
  • Build relationships with FP&A, Legal, HR, IT, R&D, Operations, Sales & Marketing; assist external auditors with documentation and explanations.

Collegium Pharmaceutical is building a leading, diversified biopharmaceutical company committed to improving the lives of people living with serious medical conditions. We have a leading portfolio of responsible pain management and neuropsychiatry medications.

Hybrid – Boston, MA: Collegium will relocate its headquarters to One Lincoln in downtown Boston in Q1 2027. Until the move, this role will be based at our current headquarters in Stoughton, MA. Employees are required to work onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week, both before and after the relocation.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the financial close and reporting process, with a particular focus on revenue recognition and gross-to-net accounting in accordance with ASC 606. This role will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will also contribute to the implementing and maintenance of scalable revenue accounting processes and will play a key role in providing accurate information to the business for decision making. This role is a unique opportunity to deepen your expertise in revenue accounting and the financial close process, while collaborating cross-functionally to improve the overall transparency and accuracy of financial performance across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the period close process by preparing reconciliations and journal entries, and assist in maintaining revenue recognition models, including gross-to-net accounting, ensuring ASC 606 compliance
  • Work closely with members of the accounting team to identify opportunities to improve the accuracy, timeliness and effectiveness of financial reporting
  • Work closely with Commercial Finance, Market Access, Compliance, and Supply Chain teams to effectively record and report revenue, providing valuable insights into how business activities impact financial results
  • Provide support to the internal controls (SOX) and external financial reporting (SEC Reporting) as necessary
  • Form good relationships with colleagues from other functions including FP&A, Legal, HR, IT, R&D, Operations, Sales & Marketing
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to support the audit process
  • Communicate clearly with explanations and clarifying questions
  • Implement continuous improvements and solve routine problems

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred
  • 2-4 years of related experience required, Big 4 public accounting experience in auditing preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting concepts
  • Experience auditing or working at/with pharmaceutical/biotech companies and/or gross-to-net revenue experience preferred
  • Experience effectively managing multiple priorities simultaneously and perform within deadlines
  • Hands-on experience using Microsoft Excel at an advanced level

Pay Range: $95,000 USD - $115,000 USD
