What You’ll Do

Primary Focus: Financial integrity, reporting, and analytical support for CFO

Financial Reporting & General Ledger Management

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and perform variance analysis.
• Ensure accuracy of financial data and journal entries across multiple entities or job divisions.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, fixed asset register, and depreciation schedules.
• Support external audits by coordinating with auditors and maintaining necessary documentation.

Job Costing and Project Accounting

• Manage job costing processes, including tracking labor, material, subcontractor, and equipment costs.
• Generate WIP (Work-in-Progress) reports and conduct post-project profitability analyses.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure accuracy of financial data related to ongoing jobs.
• Assist in preparing bid financials and performing post-project reviews.

Accounts Management and Compliance

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, payments, and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and licensing requirements, including sales/use tax filings.
• Support payroll accounting, subcontractor compliance, lien releases, and certificate of insurance tracking.

Financial Planning and Operational Support

• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projections in coordination with the CFO.
• Implement and maintain internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Assist with financial modeling and development of SOPs.

Compliance & Systems

• Assist with financial system upgrades and participate in accounting system migrations.
• Train other team members in accounting processes and support cross-training where needed.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting software; advanced Excel skills required.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate financial data effectively to both accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.
