Job summary

L.A. Darling Company LLC is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead our accounting policies and internal controls. You will develop management information systems and ensure timely financial reporting aligned with Marmon Group policies.

The role involves guiding staff under the Controller, coordinating plant accounting, and managing day-to-day operations spanning AP, AR, payroll, and tax reporting. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred and Sage X3 expertise is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 3–7 years of accounting experience.
• Manufacturing environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine, establish and coordinate accounting policies and practices.
• Develop accounting and management information systems.
• Formulate uniform, consistent and timely financial reporting.
• Establish guidelines and procedures for purchase investigations and reporting.
• Supervise staff under the Controller's supervision.
• Coordinate plant accounting policies and internal controls in line with Marmon Group policies.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting department operations including AP, AR, payroll, cash management, fixed assets, sales/use tax, reconciliations and inventory management.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities and journal entries.

Such guidelines and procedures must agree with Marmon Group policies and guidelines.Guide and encourage staff under the Controller's supervision.Coordinate plant accounting policies, practices, and internal control procedures consistent with Marmon Group policies and guidelines.Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including AP, AR, Payroll, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Sales and Use tax reporting, Account Reconciliations, Accruals, and Inventory Management.Analyze and evaluate financial and operational data for effective management action on a timely basis.Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly financial analysis.Maintain generally accepted accounting standards and procedures in accordance with Marmon Group policies and guidelines.Must have a comprehensive grasp of robust ERP system (Sage X3) and its transaction processes is essential.
