Job summary

Fulton Bank is seeking an experienced accounting professional to monitor, analyze, reconcile, and troubleshoot bank accounting systems and transactions for financial impact and regulatory compliance. The role is based in Lancaster, PA with a hybrid schedule.

The position emphasizes GL and IDDA reconciliations, collaboration with other departments, and ensuring SOX controls. You will support management reporting and mentor junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years accounting experience.
  • 1+ years financial services or banking.
  • Knowledge of bank deposit operations, loan operations, and cash management processes.
  • Experience with automated reconciliation systems such as Blackline.

Responsibilities

  • Complete complex General Ledger (GL) and Internal DDA (IDDA) reconciliations, identify and analyze open items, ensure proper clearing, and report large/unusual transactions to management.
  • Collaborate with other bank departments to troubleshoot and disposition reconciliation issues, record transactions as needed, and communicate outcomes.
  • Understand new/enhanced banking products and services through analysis of accounting/reconciliation impact, attend planning meetings, write procedure documents, and train staff on changes.
  • Evaluate and review procedure documents for changes; ensure adherence to SOX controls and update as needed.
  • Perform duties of back-up business administrator: import files and modify reconcilement conditions as requested.
  • Attend internal audit meetings and respond to research requests.

This is a full-time, hybrid career opportunity based out of our Corporate Headquarters location in Lancaster, PA.


The primary responsibilities of this position are to monitor, analyze, reconcile, and troubleshoot bank accounting systems and transactions for financial impact, regulatory compliance and management reporting requirements. The incumbent in this position will possess and apply the subject matter expertise necessary to resolve more complex reconciliations and other related tasks under minimal supervision and may train and/or advise less experienced staff.



  • Complete complex General Ledger (GL) and Internal DDA (IDDA) account reconcilements, identify and analyze open items, ensure proper clearing, and identify and report large, unusual or suspicious transactions or trends to management.

  • Collaborate with other bank departments to troubleshoot and disposition bank accounting reconcilement issues, record accounting transactions as needed, and communicate outcomes.

  • Understand new or enhanced banking products and services through analysis of accounting and reconciliation impact, soliciting guidance from management as needed. This would involve attending planning meetings of new processes, writing procedure documents for new processes and training other staff members on enhancements and changes.

  • Evaluate and review procedure documents for changes as processes and workflow evolve. Ensure with management that procedures adhere to SOX controls and are updated when change happens as a result of management planned changes or changes as a result of audit findings.

  • Perform the duties of the back-up business administrator to the team manager, importing files and making changes to reconcilement conditions as required or requested.

  • Attend internal audit meetings and respond to research requests as needed.


Education


  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty Accounting. (Required)


Experience


  • 3 or more years accounting. (Required)

  • 1 or more years financial services or banking. (Required)


Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities


  • Knowledge of bank deposit operations, loan operations, and cash management processes, with the ability to apply that understanding to daily work and problem-solving. (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of and/or prior experience using automated account reconciliation systems (e.g., Blackline) to support efficient and accurate financial reconcilement processes. (Preferred)

  • Skill in writing detailed procedures and creating process flow documentation, including the ability to translate operational steps into clear, structured materials. (Preferred)

Specific compensation offered will be determined based on a combination of factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials. The salary range may vary based on geographic location.


The salary range for this position is $57,800.00 - $96,300.00 annually.
