Job summary

Subaru of Indiana Automotive is seeking a Senior Accountant in Lafayette, IN to maintain financial records, prepare reports, and analyze general ledger transactions. You will perform monthly close activities, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and coordinate with other departments to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA, and 3+ years of relevant experience; SAP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA credential is required or strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience or more.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, analyzes, and reviews financial statements using accounting principles.
• Calculates and records daily/weekly journal entries.
• Assists with budgeting and forecasting of areas of responsibility.
• Prepares periodic reporting for internal Finance and external purposes.
• Coordinates accounting matters with other departments.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed.
• Initiates and performs special projects.
• Prepares government reporting as needed.
• Performs accounting and/or tax research as needed.

Job description

The Senior Accountant maintains financial records, prepares financial reports, performs account reconciliations, reviews, analyzes general ledger transactions, assists other departments, and applies critical thinking to solve dynamic problems.

Outline of Duties:

• Prepares, analyzes, and reviews financial statements using accounting principles.
• Calculates and records daily/weekly journal entries.
• Assists with the budgeting and forecasting of areas of responsibility.
• Prepares periodic reporting (daily, weekly, monthly) for internal Finance and external SIA purposes.
• Coordinates accounting matters with other departments.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports, as needed.
• Initiates and performs special projects.
• Prepares government reporting (surveys, property taxes, etc.), as needed.
• Performs accounting and/or tax research, as needed.
• Applies critical thinking to solve dynamic problems.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required plus 3+ years relevant experience
• CPA
• Experience with MS Office applications
• Experience with ERP system, SAP preferred

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required plus 5+ years relevant experience
• Experience at a public accounting firm
