Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Site Finance Manager and Site Accounting Lead to achieve company financial goals and values. Hands on involvement in preparation of general journal entries, sales and orders reporting, fixed asset reporting, month end financial reporting and quarterly forecasting involvement. Business partner to Site and Business unit management with active role in improving transparency on and driving business performance. Drive initiatives to maintain and improve internal control environment.

Work Environment

Farmington, CT Onsite daily for the first 90 days then hybrid 3 days in office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely internal reporting on operating results and financial condition and support accurate external reporting requirements
  • Perform calculations needed to prepare monthly general journal entries and ensure completeness.
  • Assist in creation of budgets and forecasts, report on variances and communicate to stakeholders
  • Ensure the adequacy of the accounting system as the basis for reporting to management and to comply with internal and external policies
  • Oversee monthly Trial Balance and ensure accurate month-end accruals are maintained.
  • Sales and order reporting and forecasting
  • Assist with the tracking of Capital Expenditure and New Product Development projects.
  • Responsible for development of internal financial reports and supporting accurate external Financial Management Reporting for the site, including global financial reporting systems and variance analysis.
  • Assist in development of quarterly forecasts and annual budget in coordination with global requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure the site’s adherence to the Delegation of Authority document.
  • Develop annual assumptions used in the calculation of the annual cost roll: purchased material costs, labor rates by resource and overhead burdens.
  • Provide financial guidance and accounting leadership for annual physical inventory planning and counting.
  • Assist in internal and external audit reviews where necessary.
  • Perform various reconciliations, problem solving and cost accounting as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies, relevant local, state, federal, and international regulations, and ensure filings are completed timely.
  • Develop and oversee the Internal Review function to ensure that finance and operations controls and policies follow Government and IMI controls and policies. Ensure effective follow up processes are in place.
  • Develop cash flow forecasting and maintain a long-term cash forecast.
  • Provide guidance to site personnel on accounting and finance issues such as: financial practices, GAAP, IFRS, cost management, supply chain and manufacturing/operations.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Critical Competencies For Success
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent in experience and/or certification programs.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant accountancy and/or management reporting experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing ERP systems.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience working with internal and external auditors.
Pay range

$90k - $105k

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
