Job summary

Orthodontic Experts Ltd is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations and the financial close process. The role ensures accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and supports growth across multiple entities.

Responsibilities include leading month-end/year-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, budgets, and financial projections, while developing internal controls and policies. Collaborate with Bookkeepers and AP Clerk to maintain high standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on accounting and general ledger experience.
  • Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Time management and multitasking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis.
  • Manage company credit card programs across multiple entities with timely reconciliation.
  • Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Perform general ledger entries, reconciliations, and adjusting entries.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to Bookkeepers and the Accounts Payable Clerk.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and internal controls.
  • Protect confidential information.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supervising the company's accounting operations and financial close processes while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role coordinates key accounting functions, maintains compliance with applicable accounting standards, and regulatory requirements to support the company's growth and operational objectives.

Job responsibilities & duties:

  • Manage company credit card programs across multiple business entities, ensuring timely reconciliation and compliance with company policies.

  • Perform general ledger entries, reconciliations, and adjusting entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to Bookkeepers and the Accounts Payable Clerk.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections by analyzing historical and current financial data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and internal controls.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

Working Hours & Location:
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexibility required)
  • Occasional Saturdays and some holidays
  • Reporting base location: 1700 W Higgins Rd, Suite 320, Des Plaines, IL 60018
