Overview

Senior Accountant role at Creative Financial Staffing (CFS). This position will oversee core accounting functions, ensure compliance with GAAP, manage month-end close, and contribute to strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate has strong analytical abilities, experience in sales and use tax, and the ability to mentor staff.

Base pay range

$65,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Temporary to Hire / Rutherford County / 100% On-Site / 7:00am-4:00pm

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and deliver timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Review journal entries, reconcile accounts, and analyze general ledger activity.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to guide decision-making.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial regulations.
  • Coordinate annual audits and provide required documentation to external auditors.
  • Mentor and develop junior accountants and staff to foster growth and performance.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align financials with business initiatives.
  • Stay current on accounting standards, trends, and best practices.
Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years experience as a Senior Accountant
  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance required; CPA a major plus
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Sales and Use Tax experience
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Sage 100 a plus)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle high-volume work comfortably
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
