Job summary

Flow Control Group, based in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Senior Accountant to support month-end close, analyze operations, and maintain the accounting system and ledger for the IFC operating group.

You will lead journal entries, perform reconciliations, and prepare consolidated reports, ensuring US GAAP compliance while collaborating with field teams as a technical accounting resource across the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics is required or strongly preferred.
• CPA preferred depending on candidate
• 3–5+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience or equivalent public experience
• Strong expertise in US GAAP accounting and SEC reporting rules
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a high-volume environment

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly financial close, including preparing and reviewing complex journal entries and accruals.
• Perform account reconciliations for general ledger, bank statements, and multiple financial statements.
• Prepare statements, consolidated reports, and flux analysis for all ledger line items.
• Maintain adherence to US GAAP and document internal controls for external auditors.
• Mentor and review work for staff accountants as a technical resource.
• Provide accounting support to field organization as needed.

As a Senior Accountant, you will support analyzing operations, perform month-end accounting close, maintain the accounting system and ledger, and analyze inventory valuations in the IFC operating group.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Close: Lead monthly financial close, including preparing and reviewing complex Journal Entries and Accruals
• Account Reconciliation: General ledger, bank statements, & 3 financial statement reconciliations on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
• Financial Reporting: Preparation of Statements, Consolidated Reports & Flux Analysis on a monthly basis of all line items in the ledger
• Compliance & Auditing: Maintain adherence to US GAAP, document internal controls, and organize schedules and documentation for external auditors
• Team Guidance: Mentor and review work for staff accountants serving as a technical resource for day-to-day accounting challenges
• Adhoc Field Support: Provide accounting support to field organization

Required Education and Experience

• Must have strong communication skills, be a team player and coachable, and a self-starter. Exceptional at managing competing priorities. Ability to comfortably work in a high-volume environment and manage multiple projects for FCG’s various brand companies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Finance; or Economics (CPA Preferred).
• 3 to 5+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience or equivalent public experience.
• Self-starter; ability to effectively work independently and as a team player.
• Strong, current expertise in US GAAP accounting and SEC reporting rules and regulations.
• Excellent customer-facing experience and strong communication skills.
• Skilled and proficient with Microsoft Excel; experience in Epicor Profit21 and/or Quickbooks is a plus.
• Ability to work in an ambiguous environment.
• Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak English.
