Allegion Canada Inc. in Carmel, Indiana, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Global Software Services (GSS) team on a hybrid basis. The role partners with Controllers, FP&A, and cross-functional teams to maintain GAAP-compliant financial reporting and robust internal controls.

The Senior Accountant will manage close processes, prepare reports, and support software/service revenue accounting while aiding system improvements and data analytics initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, including general ledger accounting.
• Experience with software, SaaS, or services-based business models preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted business partner and financial resource to GSS and other units.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including journal entries and accruals.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Support accounting for software and services-related activities including revenue recognition where applicable.
• Analyze financial results and provide insights to business partners.

This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, delivering timely and accurate financial information, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles in a dynamic environment, including software and services-based revenue streams. A successful candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.**What You Will Do:*** Serve as a trusted business partner and financial resource to GSS and other assigned business units, collaborating with Controllers, FP&A, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and other cross-functional teams* Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in accordance with company policies* Support accounting for software and services-related activities, including revenue recognition considerations where applicable* Analyze financial results and provide insights to business partners to support decision-making* Prepare and review financial reports to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies* Maintain the accuracy of ERP systems, including chart of accounts and financial mappings* Assist with system implementations, enhancements, and process automation initiatives* Develop and utilize AI and data analytics tools (e.g., Claude Cowork, Alteryx, Power BI, Power Automate) to analyze large datasets and improve reporting efficiency* Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries* Ensure a strong internal control environment and compliance with SOX requirements, including participation in control testing and documentation* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process standardization and efficiency gains across business units* Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as required**What You Need to Succeed*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA and/or MBA preferred* 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, including general ledger accounting* Experience supporting software, SaaS, or services-based business models preferred* Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls* High attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills* Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (advanced Excel, Power BI or similar tools preferred)* Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools* Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment* Highly motivated with a continuous improvement mindset**Percentage of Travel:** <5%**Why Work for Us?****Allegion is a Great Place to Grow your Career if:*** You're seeking a rewarding opportunity that allows you to truly help others.
