About the Opportunity

My client, one of the most established engineering and construction services companies in the region, is looking to hire a Senior Project Accountant. This is a hands-on, full-cycle accounting role for someone who thrives managing a high volume of contracts, vendors, and 1099 contractors at once.

You will sit at the intersection of finance and field operations, giving you direct visibility into project performance and a real seat at the table with project leadership. This is a processing and reporting-heavy role with room to shape how the finance function supports operations.

If you want ownership over the full AR and AP cycle, plus exposure to contract structuring and subcontractor billing, this is worth a serious look.

Responsibilities
  • Own the full cycle of accounts receivable and vendor payables, including 1099 contracts and payroll assistance.
  • Take the lead on preparing and posting journal entries within the ERP system, keeping the books accurate and audit ready.
  • Serve as the go-to resource for project leaders needing cost data, profitability insight, and contract billing clarity.
  • Review open commitments weekly and flag risk areas before they become problems.
  • Build direct relationships with peer-level contacts at client and vendor organizations to keep billing and collections moving smoothly.
  • Guide the day-to-day workflow of the on-site accounting support team, mentoring as needed.
  • Handle payroll processing and reporting as part of the broader accounting function.
  • Support general office operations, from vendor inquiries to scheduling, when the team needs an extra hand.
