Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist and report to the Manager of General Accounting; manage workload prioritization.
- Maintain and review general accounting and bookkeeping records, including account analysis necessary to compile a complete and accurate trial balance.
- Review automatic recurring journal entries and rent‑voucher entries.
- Maintain lease accounting system and reconcile to the general ledger.
- Review all appropriate month‑end accrual entries and ensure related reversals are recorded at the start of the next period.
- Record adjusting entries to reconcile account analysis to general ledger control accounts.
- Ensure departmentalization of the trial balance conforms with company policies.
- Review month‑end related journal entries.
- Maintain stock activity ledgers and prepare related documents for stock redemption and purchase activity.
- Reconcile inter‑company accounts.
- Review foreign currency exchange transactions.
- Process monthly and month‑end reports for financial reporting packages.
- Post automatic system‑generated journal entries such as allocation entries.
- Prepare year‑end audit schedules.
- Research GAAP to ensure company compliance.
- Perform related work as required.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related area and at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience.
- Basic knowledge of project management, accounting, and bookkeeping procedures.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, project costing, and financial management.
- Experience working with foreign currencies and related accounting processes. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of financial management software and equipment.
- Experience operating computer systems, accounting software, peripherals, and other business systems.
- Experience with web‑based, Windows‑based, and other data entry environments.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Ability to efficiently and effectively manage individual workload.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with management, staff, and clients.
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and group settings to internal clients.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos, and to write complex correspondence.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record for business travel.
- Successful completion of a background check required by company or client policy.
