Job summary

IMA Financial Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Account Executive to manage renewals, design client risk strategies, and maintain strong relationships with a diverse client base in the Chicago area.

You will lead negotiations with underwriters, coordinate marketing submissions, and guide Level 2 Account Executives while growing a book of business over $1.3 million in annual revenue. Travel up to 40% is required.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in insurance or related industry based on the assigned book of business
  • Ability to think strategically based on client’s priorities and marketplace cycle
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal
  • Experience leading and developing people
  • Travel required (up to 40%)
  • Experience working with MS Office products (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with Applied Epic preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage renewal processes, including policy review, game plan setting, loss analysis, and data completeness in AMS
  • Support in winning new business and setting up new accounts
  • Maintain intimate knowledge of clients’ operations, strategies and needs throughout the year
  • Lead client meetings and facilitate discussions with stakeholders
  • Develop and review marketing strategies, submissions, and negotiate with underwriters
  • Manage a book of business exceeding $1.3 million in revenue
  • Focus on large/complex accounts and mentor Level 2 Account Executives
  • Collaborate with producers to win new business

Job description

Essential job responsibilities

include but are not limited to:

  • Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values

  • Maintains overall responsibility of the entire renewal (policy review, setting the game plan, loss analysis, program design,data completeness within AMS, coverage & premium discrepancy issues,etc.) for all existing accounts
  • Supports in winning new business and set up of new accounts
  • Maintainsintimate knowledge of clients' business operations, strategies, and needs throughout the year
  • Kicks-off the client renewal processby creatingthe Game Planandcompleting a coverage analysis (if applicable) and conducting thorough review of the policy and all relevant documents
  • Prepares for andfacilitatesmeetings with key IMA stakeholders andclients
  • Crafts the marketing strategies, reviews submissions,and engages in negotiations with underwriterstodeterminethe relevant content to include in proposals
  • Pursuesmastery of the craft through on-going education and awareness of industry trends, products, and services
  • Develops andmaintainscarrier relationships
  • Manages a book of business that is > $1.3 Million in revenue
  • <10% of book of business revenue is within the Emerging market
  • < 40% of book of business revenue is within the middle market,independent ofadditionalAccountExecutive oversight
  • 50% +book of businessfocused on large/complex accounts. Plays a lead role with large/complex accounts, based on primary industry levels
  • 10% + of time is spent supporting producers in winning new business
  • Identifieswith client’s priorities then createsa vision for their insurance program with alignment to their risk management goals, and understands client’s business philosophy
  • Structures a strong, long-term partnership with assigned clients
  • Offers client team management/coaching for Level 2 Account Executives
  • Offers internal team management/coaching for Level 2 Account Executives
Required Experience and Skills

include but are not limited to:

  • At least 10 years of experience in insurance or related industrybased on the assigned book of business

  • Ability todelegate and hold team & partners accountable
  • Experience working within Applied Epic preferred
  • Experience with MS Office productsrequired(specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Travelrequired (up to 40% based on client book of business)
  • Skilled at understanding the client’s entire business as it relates to insurance protection(matching to their aversion level of risk)as it relates to specific terms & conditions
  • StrengthensIMAbrand as subject matter expert (speaking at conferences, white papers, carrier relationships, etc.)

Salary Range: $100,000 USD - $200,000 USD
