Job summary

7Th Sky Tech is seeking an experienced Ab Initio Developer to join our data engineering team in a hybrid environment. The ideal candidate will design, develop, test, and support scalable ETL solutions that process large data volumes across multiple systems.

You will work on Ab Initio graphs, plans, components, and workflows, write optimized SQL, and collaborate with analysts and QA to ensure data quality and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Ab Initio development experience.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, DB2, or PostgreSQL.
• Good understanding of ETL concepts and data warehousing.
• Experience with large-volume data processing and batch jobs.
• Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with source-to-target mapping and data transformation.
• Understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and software development best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Ab Initio ETL applications and data pipelines.
• Develop and optimize Ab Initio graphs, plans, components, and workflows.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading from multiple source systems.
• Develop complex ETL processes using Ab Initio Co>Operating System, GDE, and related components.
• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database processes.
• Work with relational databases and large-volume datasets.
• Perform data mapping, data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.
• Analyze performance issues and optimize ETL jobs and Ab Initio graphs.
• Develop reusable components and follow established ETL development standards.
• Schedule and monitor production jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Participate in unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and production support.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, QA teams, and other technical stakeholders.
• Prepare technical documentation for ETL workflows and data processes.
• Support deployment activities across development, QA, and production environments.
