Job summary

KALCON is seeking an Electrical CAD Designer to support tool installation in semiconductor environments. You will develop detailed electrical design packages, validate requirements, and ensure designs meet project specs and codes.

You will collaborate with engineers, project stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated electrical systems, performing calculations and ensuring constructible designs for successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD required; experience with Revit, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, and/or EasyPower is a plus.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Work on behalf of Engineer of Record and design team on tool installation scopes at semiconductor project site.
• Generate comprehensive technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models aligned with industry standards and client requirements.
• Determine conduit, conductor, and wire sizing, accounting for currents and environmental conditions.
• Assess cable tray fills to ensure proper cable management, organization, and scalability.
• Perform short circuit calculations to determine fault currents and specify protective devices.
• Perform voltage drop calculations to ensure electrical system performance and compliance with standards.
• Ensure all electrical designs adhere to local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
• Apply established design techniques and adapt concepts while maintaining CAD standards.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to address design objectives and resolve technical challenges.
• Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams (Mechanical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural) to ensure integrated deliverables.
