Ideal candidates are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in software-related fields and have experience with Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java.

Qualifications

• Programming experience in Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or a similar modern software language.
• Interest or experience in workflow automation, CAD/EDA tooling, engineering software, data processing, or manufacturing systems.
• Experience with databases, SQL, ETL concepts, data pipelines, APIs, or structured data documentation is preferred.
• Exposure to machine learning concepts, model development, data preparation, or model evaluation is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
• Motivation, attention to detail, and adaptability in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop software automation for CAD-related engineering workflows including design review, CAD data generation, verification, and repeatable checks.
• Build tools to reduce manual review effort, improve consistency across handoffs, and make CAD workflows more traceable and scalable.
• Contribute to data ETL workflows and data pipelines for reliable downstream use in engineering and manufacturing.
• Support machine learning model definition and implementation for engineering problems.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineering Intern at Keysight’s High Frequency Technology Center, your primary focus will be developing software automation for CAD-related engineering workflows, including design review, CAD data generation, verification, and repeatable process checks. You will help build practical tools that reduce manual review effort, improve consistency across engineering handoffs, and make CAD workflow steps more traceable, reliable, and scalable. This work may include translating engineering rules and review criteria into automated checks, improving how CAD artifacts and related metadata are generated or validated, and supporting workflow documentation so that automation can be maintained and extended over time. In addition to the CAD automation focus, you will contribute to the definition, implementation, and documentation of data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows and data pipelines that organize engineering and manufacturing data for reliable downstream use. You may also support machine learning model definition and implementation, including data preparation, model workflow development, and evaluation of how these methods can be applied to real engineering and manufacturing problems. Throughout the internship, you will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to turn project needs into maintainable software solutions in a technical semiconductor environment.

Preference will be given to candidates that can commit to a 6+ month internship, but shorter internships will also be considered.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering with a software focus, or a related technical field.
• Programming experience in Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or a similar modern software development language.
• Interest or experience in workflow automation, CAD/EDA tooling, engineering software, data processing, or manufacturing systems.
• Experience with databases, SQL, ETL concepts, data pipelines, APIs, or structured data documentation is preferred.
• Exposure to machine learning concepts, model development, data preparation, or model evaluation is preferred.
• Candidates must have strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills for successful interaction with engineering, software, and manufacturing teams.
• Must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable learning new tools and technical workflows in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Keysight Internship Program Requirements

Candidates who wish to be considered must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate or graduate program as of September 2027. Applicants who have graduated before the internship start date will not be considered unless they are starting a new undergraduate or graduate program after graduating.

Pay Range:

$29-35/hour
