This is a full-time, on-site role based in Tempe, AZ, offering significant growth opportunity as one of the first companies in the US specializing in diamond-based semiconductor components.

TheSemiconductor Process Engineer Iwill develop, optimize, and scale semiconductor fabrication processes, including photolithography, etching, passivation, metallization, and characterize materials and devices using microscopy and other analytical techniques. The role involves hands-on Class 100 cleanroom and vacuum equipment work, troubleshooting, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to move execute device fabrication work for R&D and production.

Responsibilities
  • Design photolithography masks using AutoCAD and process flows for designed semiconductor components.
  • Execute process flows within a Class 100 cleanroom to fabricate semiconductor components, ensuring processes are carried out accurately and consistently in a production setting.
  • Plan, design, and conduct structured experiments to develop, optimize, and characterize semiconductor or solid-state device fabrication processes (e.g., photolithography, etching, passivation, metallization, and other manufacturing techniques).
  • Conduct materials and device characterization, including microscopy, optical analysis, and data review, to confirm proper process implementation.
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers and team leads to validate experimental design, execution plans, methodology, and timelines.
  • Establish and maintain documentation and best practices to support high manufacturing yield and consistent component performance.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis using statistical process control (SPC) and advanced analytical methods to drive meaningful yield improvements and process stability.
  • Maintain up-to-date safety, quality, and compliance protocols, aligned with internal workflows and quality initiatives (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Present findings on process development, data analysis, and experimental planning to the team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's (with 1+ years of experience) or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Physics.
  • Hands-on cleanroom experience (Class 100 preferred) and familiarity with wet and dry chemical etch, acid cleaning, photolithography, and metrology techniques.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
