Job summary

Fives DyAG Corp. in San Jose, CA is seeking an experienced Semiconductor Maintenance Technician to support class 100 cleanroom operations. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and improve production equipment to maximize uptime, quality, and performance.

The role requires hands-on experience with vacuum, photolithography, or wet/plating systems, plus strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities. Overtime, night shifts, and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• At least three years of semiconductor equipment maintenance experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour overnight shifts, overtime, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, identifying the root causes of failures.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance according to established procedures.
• Document maintenance activities and equipment performance in tracking systems.
• Collect and record operational data as required.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Leadership to improve equipment performance and KPIs.
• Increase equipment uptime and availability.
• Help reduce preventive-maintenance cycle times and wafer scrap.
• Recommend improvements to procedures, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Support the training and certification of maintenance team members.

Title: Semiconductor Maintenance Technician

Pay: $40.00-$44.51/hr

Hours: Wednesday–Friday and every other Saturday, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM; overtime as needed

Location: San Jose, CA 95119

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Maintenance Technician to support semiconductor manufacturing operations in a Class 100 cleanroom. This hands‑on position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production equipment to maximize performance, quality, availability, and uptime.

Job Description

• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, identifying the root causes of failures.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance according to established procedures.
• Document maintenance activities and equipment performance in tracking systems.
• Collect and record operational data as required.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Leadership to improve equipment performance and KPIs.

Required Skills

• At least three years of semiconductor equipment‑maintenance experience involving vacuum, photolithography, or wet/plating technologies.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of failure analysis and root‑cause problem‑solving.
• Working knowledge of control systems and/or PLCs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and tracking systems.
• Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour overnight shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Technical Experience

• Vacuum Systems: PVD, CVD, sputter, Balzers, Veeco, or Anelva
• Deposition/Ion Mill: Veeco IBE, DLC 350, RF350, or RF240
• Etch Systems: Asher, Hitachi, or Matrix
• Wet Processing: NiFe or MLO plating, SRD, NMT, resist strip, or chemical etch
• CMP: Ebara, Strausbaugh, or Disco
• Photolithography/Metrology: ASML, TEL, Canon, Nikon, KLA, or FEI SEM
• Semiconductor manufacturing experience within IC, disk, solar, or a related environment
• Military technical training in electronics or mechanical systems
• ASE certification

Education Requirements

• Technical degree in electronics or a related field highly preferred.
