Job summary

GrizzlyTrek Group Ltd. is seeking Semi Vac Operators for a camp-based project in the Grande Prairie region, starting September 15, 2026. This contract role features 12-hour shifts, rotation, and potential for additional projects with our client.

You will operate semi vacuum trucks, perform inspections, and complete assigned tasks in accordance with site procedures while adhering to safety protocols and company policies. Camp accommodations and meals are provided for the duration of the project.

Qualifications

  • Previous semi vac truck operation in industrial or shutdown settings.
  • Valid H2S Alive and Standard First Aid.
  • CSO, TDG and WHMIS certifications required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate semi vacuum trucks safely and efficiently on site.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
  • Complete assigned vacuum and fluid handling tasks per site procedures.
  • Follow all safety protocols, hazard assessments and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate with supervisors and teammates.

Job Details
  • Position Type Contract, 2 to 3 weeks to start, with potential for additional projects after this one
  • Location Grande Prairie, Alberta
  • Start Date September 15, 2026
  • Schedule Rotation and exact shift details to be confirmed based on project requirements
  • Hours 12 hours per day
  • Compensation $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
  • Accommodations Camp based. Accommodations and meals provided for the duration of the project
  • Experience Previous semi vac truck operation in industrial or shutdown settings
  • Certification H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, CSO, TDG, WHMIS
  • Pre-Employment Alcohol and drug screening, plus a comprehensive Fitness-to-Work Assessment (see below)
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Successful completion of Alcohol and Drug Screening
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive Fitness-to-Work Assessment. This assessment is job-related, focusing on the physical demands and safety sensitive nature of the work, and is conducted in accordance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and the Alberta Human Rights Act. The assessment will cover:
    • Health History Review: A thorough examination of the candidate's health background.
    • Pre-Medical Evaluation: Measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
    • Musculoskeletal Examination: A head-to-toe assessment to identify any limitations or concerns related to physical health.
    • Critical Strength and Mobility Test: A series of tasks assessing lifting, carrying, and positional abilities aligned with the job's physical demands (up to 50 lbs).

The Role

GrizzlyTrek is seeking Semi Vac Operators to join our valued client's team on a camp based project in the Grande Prairie region, starting September 15, 2026. This is a contract position, ideally suited to an individual committed to excellence and safety.

What You'll Do
  • Operate semi vacuum trucks safely and efficiently in an industrial environment
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
  • Complete assigned vacuum and fluid handling tasks in accordance with site procedures
  • Follow all safety protocols, hazard assessments, and company policies
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication with supervisors and team members
What You Bring
  • Previous experience operating semi vac trucks in industrial or shutdown settings
  • Valid H2S Alive
  • Valid Standard First Aid
  • Valid CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
  • TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) certification
  • WHMIS certification
  • Ability to complete the Pre-Employment Requirements listed above
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on oil and gas shutdowns or turnarounds
  • Strong safety record and understanding of site compliance requirements
