Semi Truck Driver

Eugene, Oregon – Recycling Facility – Full-Time, Permanent – Salary: $25–28 per hour

Job Summary

Our truck drivers perform pick up and drop off boxes for scrap metal collection at customer sites, load, unload, and transport semi‑trailer loads to and from customer and job sites. Our service is generally located within a 150‑mile radius of Eugene.

General Responsibilities

• Move semi and lowboy trailer loads to and from job sites
• Secure freight as required, including tying down and securing own load
• Maintain timely, understandable, legible, and accurate paperwork
• Perform complete pre‑ and post‑inspection of the vehicle in accordance with company policy and report any safety issues on standard reports
• Operate industry‑relevant technologies such as mobile smartphones and vehicle E‑logs
• Be willing to fill in other areas when needed
• Cross‑train on roll‑off box trucks

Requirements

• Knowledge of DOT reports and regulations

This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions. Physical hazards such as noise, fumes, and dirt are present due to the equipment, machinery, and scrap in the yard. Safety shoes, hearing protection, a hard hat, and additional personal protective equipment, as needed, must be worn to eliminate the risks associated with these hazards. Overnight travel is not required for this position.
