Job summary

Dallas Trailer Repair Co. is seeking a skilled Semi-Trailer Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of semi-trailers.

The ideal candidate will have experience with trailer systems, preventive maintenance, and DOT inspections, along with a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing brakes, suspension, electrical and structural systems, conducting DOT inspections, and ensuring work orders are accurately completed.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing semi-trailers and knowledge of trailer brake, suspension, air, electrical, and structural systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools safely.
• Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background/drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain dry vans, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, and other trailer types.
• Repair brakes, suspension, wheel ends, lighting, electrical systems, doors, roofs, and structural components.
• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Troubleshoot and repair air systems and other mechanical issues.
• Complete work orders and repair documentation accurately.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Requirements:

• Previous trailer repair or heavy-duty mechanical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of trailer brake, suspension, air, electrical, and structural systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Own tools and toolbox preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and physical.
