Job summary

Getty Research Institute seeks a collaborative Metadata Integration Specialist to contribute to a new Linked Open Data environment. You will lead semantic data workflows to produce open, structured data in Arches and manage metadata creation, curation, and ingestion.

You will apply knowledge of international semantic data standards and play a key role in data interoperability across the GRI and the Arches community. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in library and information science, digital humanities, cultural heritage field, or related discipline.
• 2+ years related professional experience, preferably in an art-related or cultural heritage organization.
• Familiarity with Arches platform or graph databases is a plus.
• Technical expertise in computational methods and data management workflows.

Responsibilities

• Research, create, and curate metadata of advanced complexity to support art provenance and humanities research.
• Develop new workflows and facilitate adoption of new technologies and skills.
• Apply advanced knowledge of semantic data standards and best practices.
• Data cleaning and transformations, data analysis and reporting using tools such as OpenRefine and SPARQL.
• Create, maintain, and contribute to scripting processes for automating departmental workflows (e.g., Python).
• Test and analyze new technologies, Arches functionalities, and data contributions.
• Contribute to documentation of standards and procedures; produce data-driven analyses.
• Collaborate with Getty Digital teams to align data models and configurations; communicate development needs.
• Develop links between Arches community and the GPI; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Publish and present work to support metadata reuse and enrichment.
