Job summary

Ashley Furniture is seeking a Selling Manager to support the Sales Manager and assist with management duties in the showroom. You will oversee all showroom departments and drive sales performance with a focus on margins, quotas, and goals.

Lead the sales, guest experience, and visual teams, coach staff, and manage staff evaluations and communications. The role requires flexible hours and possible travel, with emphasis on excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years working in the retail industry.
• Minimum 4+ years supervising in a retail industry.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to learn in-house computer programs.
• Ability to handle guest concerns in a timely manner.
• Ability to interview and staff retail location.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience in team building skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all showroom departments as directed by the Sales Manager.
• Review sales including margins, volume, quotas, and closing ratios while suggesting future goals.
• Assist the Sales Manager with customer-related issues escalating above the Guest Experience Manager.
• Work with the Visual Presentation Manager regarding product placement and report policy changes to staff.
• Provide leadership to the sales, guest experience, and visual teams as portrayed by the Sales Manager.
• Coach staff to build individual and team success in a professional manner.
• Learn about budgeted administrative costs including wages and supplies.
• Understand performance of employees and assist them as applicable.
• Ensure complete documentation of procedures and tasks completed.
• Complete various report functions in a timely manner.
• Assist with hiring, training, and coaching the sales team.
• Prepare and administer performance evaluations for assigned staff.
• Provide timely and effective communications.
• Attend monthly staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• 2 + years working in the retail industry
• 4 + years supervising in a retail industry
• Previous supervisory experience required
