Job summary

Higher Ground Integrated Human Services (IHS) seeks a detail-oriented Fiscal Intermediary to support OPWDD Self-Direction services. The FI ensures accurate financial management, payroll processing, and compliance with OPWDD and Medicaid requirements while supporting individuals’ person-centered plans.

The role safeguards public funds, maintains compliance, and assists individuals and families in managing Self-Directed services. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OPWDD Self-Direction and Fiscal Intermediary operations.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for Self-Direction employees in accordance with budgets and service authorizations.
• Manage withholding, taxes, and payroll reporting.
• Process vendor payments and reimbursements.
• Ensure payments align with Individual Budgets and Life Plans.
• Monitor budgets to stay within OPWDD-approved limits.
• Track spending and alert participants of potential overages.
• Maintain compliance with OPWDD Self-Direction requirements and Medicaid billing.
• Assist with audits and corrective action plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate financial records and vendor files.
• Prepare financial reports for Higher Ground, participants, brokers, and OPWDD.
• Coordinate with Self-Direction Brokers, Care Managers, and staff.
• Explain payroll timelines, budgets, and FI processes to participants.
• Respond to inquiries promptly.
