Job summary

San Andreas Regional Center seeks a Self Determination Supervisor to support the Self-Determination and Traditional case management units, coordinating services under the Lanterman Act. The role involves public relations, policy execution, and agency-wide liaison work to advance SDP goals.

You will lead training for agencies, participate in SDP meetings with partners, and supervise staff while ensuring accurate documentation and budget oversight.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The Self Determination Supervisor will be responsible for providing support to the Self-Determination and Traditional case management units and act as an agency and community liaison. The SDP Supervisor will maintain good public relations, implement the goals and vision of the regional center, and be responsible for providing and coordinating services to individuals in accordance with the provisions of the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act, and policies established by the San Andreas Regional Center Board of Directors.


Essential Job Functions


  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the self-determination program, policy, regulation and implementation.

  • Remain up to date with regulations, policies and principles relating to the self-determination program.

  • Attend and present at community events.

  • Assist with maintaining data in the SDP Master List

  • Assist in completion of SDAC report.

  • Attend self-determination meetings with community partners including SDAC and DDS hosted meetings.

  • Develop and conduct training for IFs and FMS agencies on SARC’s procedures associated with DDS directives.

  • Attend meetings with FMS and IF agencies as needed to address any issues or barriers preventing participants from accessing SDP.

  • Attend SDP IPP meetings with SDP specialists as needed to provide support.

  • Conduct training for the traditional units on SDP process and policy.

  • Conduct SDP introductory meetings with traditional case managers and participants/families interested in the SDP who require support regarding the SDP transition.

  • Provide technical support for transition support POS (099 /FTS).

  • Transfers: Ensure all SDP documentation- budgets, spending plans and amendments etc.- are in LF and Sandis fields are updated prior to DM final review.

  • Provide technical support to SDP Specialists when cases first transfer to the unit.

  • Assist SDP manager to review and evaluate SDP budgets and spending plans.

  • Supervisor to the SDP secretary.

  • Provide ongoing training and directions to the SDP secretary.

  • Develop training materials including flyers, spreadsheets, and presentations to educate SARC staff, service providers, and community members on the SDP.

  • Management of unit secretary to ensure documentation is properly uploaded to the LF database in a timely manner and in preparation for agency/DDS audits.

Requirements

Education/Experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree in social work, rehabilitation counseling or a related field from an accredited college or a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work plus four years of experience. The specific field of study for the Bachelor's Degree and the post Bachelor's years of experience may be waived only by the Executive Director if needed by the agency to meet a special need, e.g. services to specific cultural or monolingual groups.


Special Skills And Knowledge

A comprehensive knowledge of self-determination program, policy, regulations and implementation process. Additionally, individual must have knowledge of principles, objectives and techniques of social work; individual and group behavior, human growth, development of family relationships; medical-psycho-socio-economic factors affecting individuals and families; techniques of intervention, referral, and follow-up to community resources and facilities and various community organizations, and how to intervene constructively on the client's behalf. This supervisor must have the ability to relate in a constructive and enabling manner to a wide variety of individuals and organizations; ability to relate in a positive manner with supervisor, co-workers, and others in the agency and community; establish and maintain rapport with clients and their families; prepare and present oral and written reports; maintain case records in a clear, concise, appropriate and timely manner.

Use of an automobile, possession of a valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance for the minimum amount prescribed by law, OR ability to provide for independent transportation.

$8,024 - $9,756 Monthly (depending on experience)
