Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Self-Checkout Host to deliver friendly, efficient service at the self-checkout area. You will assist customers with scanning, weighing, bagging and paying for items, monitor checkout activity, and help ensure a smooth, accurate checkout experience across peak hours.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years cashier or retail experience, strong numeracy and communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 30 lb and handle a

Qualifications

• Be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of cashier experience or retail experience preferred.
• Have a positive attitude and the ability to positively interact with customers.
• Operate front-end equipment: register, calculator, scanner.
• Be flexible to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs., and move carts up to 35 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers and cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Oversee self-checkout units and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist customers as they scan, weigh, bag and pay for items.
• Serve multiple customers and anticipate issues before they occur.
• Answer questions and resolve issues (large items, scanning/weighing, payment).
• Monitor scanning accuracy and encourage use of self-checkout lanes.
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ads, promotions, and product locations.
• Keep self-checkout areas clean and orderly.
• Thank customers as they leave the self-checkout area.
