Job summary

foodauthority in Melville, NY, is seeking a Warehouse Selector responsible for accurate order picking, packing, and shipment of temperature-controlled foods. You will count goods, stage for loading, and maintain FIFO and inventory integrity in a fast-paced environment.

• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization, remove packaging and pallets after picking.

Selector

Description: The objective of this position is to exceed the customer’s expectation of service by assuring the safe transportation and delivery of food to customer locations, following company policies and procedures. Assuring shipment of temperature controlled and undamaged product, proper count of goods at customer locations, assuring inventory levels are FIFO in the customer locations.

Required skills and abilities:

• 1-3 years in related position, experience in distribution and warehousing food manufacturing environment preferred.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical requirements:

• The ability to lift 50/80 pounds regularly

Minimum Selector Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• 1 year in related position, experience in distribution and warehousing food manufacturing environment.

• Able to work in a cold environment for long periods
• Able to read in English purchase orders and understand directions
