Job summary

The Weber School District is seeking a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Paraeducator at South Ogden Jr High to support students with significant behavioral needs. This part-time role runs 5.75 hours per day for 180 days per year and follows the Lane 4 (B) Education Support Professionals Salary Schedule, with retirement benefits.

The position requires assisting certified staff, implementing behavior plans, and collecting data.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with behavioral challenges.
• Ability to follow behavior plans and implement interventions.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff in instructional and non-instructional activities.
• Develop and monitor behavior plans with support from licensed staff.
• Model and reinforce positive student behavior and supports.
• Collect data on student behaviors and progress for planning.
• Provide accommodations (e.g., reading tests aloud, check-in/check-out).
• Monitor students in various settings and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Drive students in district vehicles as needed.
• Attend required trainings and maintain confidentiality.
