Job summary

Somatic Experiencing International seeks a Global IT Director to lead technology strategy and the internal IT function. This hands-on leader blends strategic vision with technical depth to govern platforms, security, data stewardship, and vendor management, ensuring reliable, scalable systems that support revenue, staff, and student experiences.

Remote-first position with occasional in-person staff meetings; 40 hours per week; salary range $100,000–$120,000.

Responsibilities

  • Identify high-volume manual processes that can be standardized, automated, or supported through repeatable data operations.
  • Establish controls for validation, testing, duplicate prevention, reconciliation, exception handling, access, recovery, and change management for automated and bulk workflows.
  • Establish data-governance practices addressing data quality, stewardship, reporting, retention, integrations, imports, remediation, and appropriate use.
  • Oversee security, privacy, accessibility, identity and access management, permissions, backups, and incident escalation in partnership with the MSP, vendors, and leadership.
  • Lead responses to high-impact issues affecting registration, revenue, payments, staff or student access, data integrity, security, or event delivery.
  • Maintain and periodically test business-continuity, disaster-recovery, and critical-system response procedures.

Job Summary

The Director of Technology leads SEI's technology strategy and internal technology function. This hands-on, systems-oriented leader is accountable for technology governance, platform and product ownership, architecture oversight, prioritization, vendor and budget management, security, data stewardship, operational reliability, and team development. The role ensures that technology supports SEI's mission, revenue processes, staff effectiveness, student experience, accessibility, and long-term sustainability. The Director combines strategic leadership with enough technical depth to evaluate designs, guide complex decisions, troubleshoot high-impact issues, and translate business needs into maintainable systems. The Director builds a service model in which routine configuration, event operations, user support, testing, and documentation are delegated appropriately while novel, high-risk, cross-functional, or architecturally significant work receives director-level leadership.

Technology Operations, Data Governance, and Risk Management – 25%

Product, Platform, and Architecture Leadership – 25%

  • Provide product ownership and architecture oversight for Salesforce, Fonteva, Experience Cloud, Form Assembly, Microsoft 365/Entra, Zoom, payment systems, and connected business applications.
  • Evaluate significant configurations, automations, integrations, data models, permissions, reporting, and user-facing changes for scalability, security, accessibility, supportability, and organizational fit.
  • Ensure major platforms have accountable owners, backup coverage, documentation, support and escalation paths, renewal plans, and adoption strategies.
  • Partner with the Business Systems Platform Administrator on platform improvements, release planning, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and operational handoff.
  • Determine whether technology work should be completed internally, assigned to a vendor, or managed as a formal development project.

Technology Strategy, Governance, and Prioritization – 20%

  • Develop and maintain SEI's technology roadmap, priorities, and multi-year capability plan in alignment with organizational strategy and available capacity.
  • Establish clear intake, prioritization, authorization, release, documentation, and escalation practices for technology work.
  • Lead decisions regarding platform investments, process design, vendor selection, automation, lifecycle planning, and emerging technology.
  • Communicate technology risks, dependencies, costs, tradeoffs, capacity constraints, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Define service ownership and decision-making authority across internal staff, the MSP, vendors, and requesting departments.

Team Leadership, Service Delivery, and Organizational Continuity – 20%

  • Manage and develop Technology team members through clear responsibilities, goals, regular feedback, protected learning time, and progressive responsibility.
