Job summary

Huntington Bancshares, Inc. is seeking a Segment Risk Manager to oversee operational and regulatory risk strategies for a business segment. The role requires evaluating controls, directing monitoring and testing, and escalating issues to senior management.

You will collaborate with various teams to ensure risk practices support strategic goals and adhere to corporate policies. Advanced knowledge of risk management principles and strong communication skills are essential, with at least five years

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Audit, Compliance, Risk Management or Operational Risk.
• In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree 4 additional years of segment-specific or risk related experience may be considered.
• Advanced knowledge of risk management principles and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications and the ability to communicate and present requirements and issues clearly and concisely.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with all businesses.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate effectiveness of controls and elevate as appropriate.
• Direct self-monitoring and testing activities to ensure compliance with Corporate Risk Management requirements.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of enterprise and regulatory controls and the resulting risk and control self-assessments.
• Deliver timely escalation of all issues requiring attention to senior management.
• Work with business segment management to ensure the risk function supports strategic goals.
• Collaborate with audit/business segment/corporate risk to address issues with action plans and target dates.
• Act as the central point for receipt and distribution of important risk information for the business segment.
• Ensure business segment adheres to corporate and business unit policies and procedures.
• Must be aware of and keep abreast of credit risk associated with assigned business segment.
• May or may not have managerial responsibility.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
