Job summary

MD Staff Pointe is sourcing an Interventional Cardiologist for locum tenens coverage at a Central Virginia hospital facility. The schedule includes on-site weekdays from 7 am to 5 pm with on-call weekday evenings and weekend coverage, including Sunday through Monday morning.

Procedures include PCI, angioplasties, catheterizations, and related vascular interventions. Candidates must be BC in cardiology, hold BLS/ACLS, and have an active Virginia license.

• BLS/ACLS certification
• Active Virginia license or ability to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Provide interventional cardiology procedures for locum coverage at Central VA facility.
• Manage inpatient workload with on-site weekdays 7 am–5 pm and on-call duties.
• Participate in on-call evenings and weekends as required by the schedule.

Our client in Virginia needs assistance with Interventional Cardiologist locum tenens coverage. Here are some of the details.

Location: Central VA Facility: Hospital, 250 beds, and 30 ICU beds Practice Setting: Inpatient/Call; EMR-EPIC Schedule: On-site weekdays 7 am – 5 pm; on-call weekday evenings 5 pm-7 am; on-call weekends 7 am-7pm; Sunday 7 am – 7 am Monday. Practice Details: average number of admissions daily 2, call volume (not many STEMIs - 159 activations in 2025 with a 47% cancellation rate). STEMI cal is aligned with unassigned call and noninvasive coverage. Other IC will be present during locum coverage.
