Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Seed Technician to operate machinery in Production/Processing/Packaging or Warehousing, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality-driven processes aligned with area procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic IT knowledge (Internet, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Valid driver2s license and MVR review.
• Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds regularly.
• Willingness to travel to Bayer field sites up to 6 weeks per year.
• Availability to meet overtime demands, including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment in production sites and use real-time data to optimize procedures.
• Support plant areas in continuous improvement (5S, Lean, Six Sigma).
• Apply 5WHYs to drive process and standard work improvements.
• Provide coaching to seasonal workers and trainees.
• Ensure field activities meet company standards and business requirements.
• Coordinate with growers and plant operations to support farming networks.
• Use SAP to document readings, maintenance orders, and production data; maintain process docs.
• Follow Bayer HSE and QA/QC standards on the shop floor.

Seed Tech

The Seed Technician willbe responsible foroperating machinery/equipment for the Production/Processing/Packaging/or Warehousing process, ensuring that the production process happens safely, effectively and with quality in alignment with general procedures of the area.The SeedTechnician will be expected to mentor new employees, perform basic maintenance ofequipment,and handle basic activities in Bayer systems (SAP and electronic networks), commonlyused in production processes.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate equipmentinthe production sites andleveragereal-timedatato maximize existing procedures. Perform preventive maintenance andinspections; troubleshooting problems associated with equipment,processes, and systems as needed.
• Support areas across the plant in driving the adoption of continuousimprovement practices and programs (5S, Lean, Six Sigma) conducive to an organized and clean work environment.
• Utilize Focused Improvement(e.g., 5WHYs) techniques toinitiateprocess and standard workimprovements.
• Provide coaching and training to seasonal workforce, area trainees andpeers supporting achievement and personal development.
• Ensure upstream activities (e.g., field inspection, grower contract)are handled within company standards and business requirements.
• Cultivate partnership with key business partners to plant/fieldoperations (e.g., grower network).
• Use SAP to support administrative procedures,documentkey readings,maintenanceorders,and production information. Maintain key processdocumentation (operating, start up and shut down procedures; standardwork; process flow and instrumentation diagrams; etc.).
• Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Bayer s Health, Safety,Environment (HSE)and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)standards (e.g.general shop floor/machine safety and operatingprocedures).
• Comply withinternal procedures and support compliance with legalrequirements applicable to area activities.
• Participate and prepare to lead Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetingsas needed; articulating shiftobjectivesandallocatingresourcesaccordinglyacross all activeproduction areas.
• Support andmaintainmetrics and relevant information on current VisualManagementboards todriveteamwork andfacilitateshift change over.

WHO YOU ARE

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to travel toassistwith operations at Bayer field sites andseed centers, maximum of6 weeksout of the year
• Availability to meet overtime demands, including occasional work onweekends and holidays

Employees can expect to be paid an hourly rate between $24.89 - $40.57. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
