Job summary

PanAmerican Seed, a Ball Horticultural Company, seeks a process-oriented leader to head seed milling operations for ornamental seed production. You will manage milling activities, ensure safe, efficient equipment use, and contribute to high-quality throughput and timeliness.

The role requires supervising staff, coordinating training during relocation from Santa Paula to Santa Maria, and occasional cross-site work. English and Spanish communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5 years of supervisory seed cleaning experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish in a production environment.
• Experience with seed cleaning equipment and safety procedures.
• Experience supervising employees and coordinating seasonal labor.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and optimize seed cleaning processes using specialized equipment.
• Evaluate seed lots and set equipment to achieve purity and quality.
• Supervise one full-time employee and coordinate temporary labor during peak periods.
• Train employees on seed handling, equipment operation, and safety.
• Ensure adherence to procedures, safety, and quality standards.
• Maintain equipment readiness through preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Execute work orders and production schedules to meet timelines.
• Monitor workflow and adjust processes to improve efficiency.
• Maintain records for seed lot processing and traceability.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure readiness of cleaned seed.
