Job summary

Ball Horticultural Company in West Chicago, IL is seeking a Seed Handler to join our seed packaging team. This full-time role will pull, package, verify, and seal seed orders, operate packaging equipment, and help keep our seed inventory accurate and well organized.

You will use SAP and other systems to manage materials, perform quality checks, and support efficient packaging operations in a fast-paced environment. The role requires attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Production or assembly experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Problem-solving skills and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and adapt quickly.
• Flexibility to work in multiple areas and perform multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities And Duties

• Pull, package, verify, and seal seed packages
• Operate packaging and sealing machines
• Count, put away, and maintain inventory, and assist with physical inventory
• Retrieve seed from the refrigerated vault and seed warehouse
• Replenish packaging supplies
• Use SAP and other system tools for inquiries and to manage materials
• Perform quality checks
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• The ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. for up to 10% of the day
• The ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs. for up to 10% of the day

• The ability to kneel/bend for up to 20% of the day
• The ability to reach above shoulder level for up to 15% of the day
• The ability to climb/balance for up to 10% of the day

Hourly Pay Range

$16 - $18
