Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead projects for Federal and Public sector clients. The role requires independent work and team leadership on sediment remediation designs and related studies.

Travel may be needed, with a PE license preferred and a degree in Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering. Ideal candidates will have experience in CERCLA and related regulatory processes, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage complex site

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and/or port site settings involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Understand the scientific and engineering principles of sediment and contaminant transport, environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring technologies, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial action design, and/or remedial action construction.
  • Provide support of mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
  • Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on various components of complicated sediments sites, communicating technical strategy to the client and interacting with SMEs.
  • Possess in-depth expertise in CERCLA, GLLA, and/or other regulatory steps at contaminated sediment sites.
  • Act as a technical liaison with client, public, and outside consultants, explaining complex evaluations to non-experts.
  • Lead staff in preparing/reviewing technical information to conform to regulations and policy.
