bioMérieux SA is seeking a Security Technician in Utah to safeguard personnel, facilities, and assets. You will monitor CCTV, control access, respond to incidents, and maintain detailed security records across manufacturing and office spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and alarms.
  • Conduct routine patrols of buildings, parking areas, and grounds.
  • Respond to security incidents, alarms, emergencies, and employee concerns.
  • Investigate and document security incidents and maintain security records.
  • Assist with access badge issuance, credential management, and account maintenance.

Description

Schedule: (3 X 12) 6:00 am - 6:30p Friday - Sunday

The Security Technician is responsible for supporting the safety and security of employees, visitors, facilities, and company assets. This position monitors security systems, responds to incidents, conducts facility patrols, manages access control processes, and assists with investigations while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

The Security Technician serves as a key resource in maintaining a safe and secure work environment through proactive risk identification, effective communication, and adherence to established security protocols.

Security Operations
  • Monitor security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and alarm systems.
  • Conduct routine patrols of buildings, parking areas, and company grounds.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, emergencies, and employee concerns.
  • Investigate and document security incidents, accidents, and suspicious activities.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate security records.
Access Control
  • Manage employee, contractor, and visitor access credentials.
  • Verify identification and authorization for facility access.
  • Monitor restricted areas and ensure compliance with security procedures.
  • Assist with badge issuance, access requests, and account maintenance.
Emergency Response
  • Support emergency response activities, including evacuations and business continuity procedures.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency responders when necessary.
  • Assist with medical emergencies and workplace incidents according to established protocols.
Safety and Compliance
  • Perform routine security and safety inspections.
  • Identify potential security vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and site security standards.
  • Participate in audits and risk assessments as required.
Customer Service
  • Provide professional service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Promote a positive and secure workplace environment through effective communication and teamwork.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support special events and after-hours site activities.
  • Assist with security training and awareness initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and other applicable screening requirements.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous security, law enforcement, military, emergency response, or facilities experience.
  • Experience with CCTV, access control, and alarm monitoring systems.
  • CPR, First Aid, or Emergency Response certification.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, healthcare, or regulated environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Conduct indoor and outdoor patrols in varying weather conditions.
  • Ascend and descend stairs and ladders.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate security and communications equipment.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations.
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing, warehouse, office, and outdoor environments.
  • Day, night, weekend, holiday, and rotating shifts may be required.
  • May be required to work overtime during emergencies or special events.

The estimated wage range for this role based in Utah is between $17.00 – 25.50. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
