Job description

Security Technician

Technical Security service and installation company working on Government contracts is looking for a Security Technician to join their permanent team.

This person can live anywhere in the lower 48 and offers the opportunity to travel the United States and Internationally.

Pay starting at: $24 to $26 base wage. Travel per diem + Government wage up to $45 per hour + employee housing when dispatched to job site away from base location.

Schedule:

  • Extensive travel is required for this position, expenses are paid for by the company with a $500 bonus when traveling 12+ weeks (up to three times per year)
  • While on a job, there's flexibility: 8am-5pm, 7am-4pm or four 10-hour days so they have either Mondays or Fridays off

Responsibilities:
  • Install, program, maintain and repair security alarm wiring and equipment and ensure work is in accordance with relevant codes and specs
  • Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, and other areas as required
  • Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation
  • Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, then position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping
  • Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications
  • Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions

Requirements:
  • Two years of experience with directly installing access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance systems, preferred
  • Candidates certified in Hirsch, Bosch, CCure, AMAG, Lenel, Avigilon, or Milestones systems will be given priority placement
