Job summary

Mobile Communications America in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Security Technician to install and service enterprise-level physical security systems including CCTV, access control, and intrusion. You will join a team focused on delivering reliable security solutions and supporting project teams with timely, quality work.

The role requires hands-on installation, network connectivity, and basic electrical/mechanical knowledge; licensure readiness is expected, with a two-year electronics/IT degree

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of experience with installation and service of enterprise-level physical security systems.
• Ability to install devices, headend equipment and cabling and connect to the network.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and digital systems; read floor plans/diagrams.
• Able to use hand and power tools and learn test equipment.
• Able to obtain appropriate licensure; two-year degree preferred.
• Experience with enterprise-level security systems installation, programming and troubleshooting is desired.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Installing and servicing physical security systems/platforms, including CCTV, access control systems, intrusion detection, communications, and many other low-voltage systems.
• Learning and contributing to technical and project teams.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues.
• Working as a valued team member and as an individual to deliver quality results to our customers.
• Executing assigned projects and duties in a timely manner with quality results.
• Working with trades and subcontractors assigned to projects.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:

• Minimum 1+ years of experience with the installation and service of enterprise-level physical security systems and platforms (Access Controls, CCTV, Intrusion / Burglar, etc.)
• Ability to do device installation, headend equipment, cabling, and able to connect to the network.
• Basic comprehension of mechanical systems, digital circuits, and electrical systems.
• Basic understanding and ability to read and interpret building floor plans and diagrams.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools and learn and use test equipment.
• Can troubleshoot basic issues across various enterprise-level systems.
• Ability to obtain appropriate licensure.
• A two-year degree in Electronics, IT, or applicable subject, desired.
• Proficient with enterprise-level security systems – installation, programming, and troubleshooting, desired.
• Training/certifications associated with manufacturer’s security systems and networks, desired.

YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.

On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday - Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.
